Divine Mercy Sunday in the Time of Coronavirus

On Divine Mercy Sunday (First Sunday after Easter), April 19, 2020 for this year, the faithful can still gain a plenary indulgence despite closed churches! This is discussed in the video below. I summarized the key points of what to do below the video.

1. Do an Act of Contrition with the intention of going to Confession as soon as possible. The following is taken from the letter from the Diocese of Honolulu during the stay at home order.

2. Do a Spiritual Communion with the intention of receiving Communion as soon as possible. Here is one of the Spiritual Communion prayers:

3. Say a prayer similar to the following:

"Lord Jesus Christ, you promised St. Faustina that the soul that has been to Confession (I'm unable but I made an Act of Contrition) and the soul that receives Holy Communion (I'm unable, but I made a Spiritual Communion), will receive complete forgiveness of all sins and punishment. Please, Lord Jesus Christ, give me this grace."
