Prayer for Freedom

Father, through your son Jesus Christ you taught us not to be fearful of tomorrow but to commit our lives into your hands. Send the Spirit to light our path in these troubled days. And Lord, send us also the gift of the Spirit to fill this place, myself and the world.

Touch me with truth that burns like fire, with beauty that moves me like the wind and set me free Lord to try new ways of living, free to forgive myself and others, free to love, laugh and sing, free to lay aside my burden of security, free to join the battle for justice and peace, free to see and listen and wonder again at the gracious mystery of things and persons, free to be, to give, to receive as a child of your spirit.

And Lord, teach me how to dance, how to turn around and come down where I want to be---in the arms and heart of your people and in you, that I may praise and enjoy you forever. Amen.

Prayer for Healing

Heavenly Father,

I call on You right now in a special way. It is through Your power that I was created. Every breath I take, every morning I wake, and every moment of every hour, I live under Your power.

Father, I ask You now to touch me with that same power. For if You created me from nothing, You can certainly recreate me. Fill me with the healing power of Your spirit. Cast out anything that should not be in me. Mend what is broken. Root out any unproductive cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse and infection.

Let the warmth of Your healing love pass through my body to make new any unhealthy areas so that my body will function the way You created it to function.

And Father, restore me to full health in mind and body so that I may serve You the rest of my life.

I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to the Blessed Mother (guard against falls)

Take my hand, oh Blessed Mother
Hold me firmly, lest I fall
I grow nervous while walking
And humbly on Thee I call
Guide me over every crossing
Watch me when I'm on the stairs
Let me know that you're beside me
Hasten to my destination safely
In every undertaking and
Duties for the day
When evening creeps upon us
I'll never fear to be alone once again
Oh Blessed Mother
Take my hand and lead me home!
Amen.

(It is said that you will never fall if you say this prayer everyday)

A Prayer for Mothers

Almighty God, the Father of us all, through the love You have for Mary, the Mother of Christ, Your only-begotten Son, we ask You to bless and to reward the lives of sacrifice and service lived by the mothers of men in imitation of Mary, the model of all mothers. In Your justice, enrich their lives with the graces and blessings You reserve for those who, in this world, reflect the faith, the humility, the selflessness of Mary, Queen of Mothers. May Your gift to them be eternal happiness with You, Your Son and the Holy Spirit in the company of Mary and all the Saints. Amen.

Regina Coeli

Queen of Heaven, rejoice, Alleluia.
For He whom you did merit to bear, Alleluia.

Has risen, as he said, Alleluia.
Pray for us to God, Alleluia.

Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia.
For the Lord has truly risen, Alleluia.

Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Scriptural Rosary

The Scriptural Rosary is a beautiful way of praying the Rosary wherein a Bible verse is read before each Hail Mary. It is very helpful for those who really want to meditate on the mysteries of the Rosary.

A version of the Scriptural Rosary (both text and audio) may be found here:
http://www.scripturalrosary.org/

The Scriptural Rosary may also be prayed using specific scriptural themes. Scriptural passages that may be used are found at the Holy Spirit Interactive Website. Currently available themes are:
My Identity in ChristLoveSinForgivenessObediencePetitioningAnger, and Who are you?
According to the website, more themes will be added as they are completed.

For a deeper understanding of the Rosary, read Pope John Paul II's apostolic letter entitled Rosarium Virginis Mariae.

Prayer to St. Michael for Protection While Driving

St. Michael, the Archangel,
Cut me loose, set me free,
Pave the way for me.

A True Letter of Our Savior Jesus Christ: Consecrating the Drops of Blood which Our Lord lost on His way to Calvary.

The letter, along with some miracles associated with it, can be found here.

In a nutshell, the letter is Christ's appeal for prayers for the drops of blood He lost on His way to Calvary. The total number of drops is 28,430. These drops may be honored simply by praying:
  • 2 Our Father's
  • 2 Hail Mary's
  • 2 Glory Be's
every day for three years (But you have to pray them in honor of the drops of blood lost).

And for those who complete the three years, the following are promised (promises are direct quotes):
  1. The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins.
  2. You will be free from the pains of Purgatory.
  3. If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.
  4. It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith.
  5. I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation.
Such great promises for only a few minutes of prayer each day, for only three years! Can you imagine if everyone did this? And in case you're wondering, this devotion was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1890. :)

Please do read the letter to obtain more graces. :) It's not very long. Just click here.

Prayer For Deliverance From Temptations

O Sweet Jesus, we ask you to cover us with Your protection against all harm and evil.
Bind every spirit that may come against us.
Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my mind, heart, soul, and spirit. Amen.

St Michael the Archangel, pray for us.

(If you are struggling with temptations of the flesh, pray to the Infant Child Jesus of Prague. Put a statue next to your bed and kiss it every night before you go to sleep. This is a very powerful aid to help us combat our own evil desires and the evil spirits that may come against us.)

Prayer for Healing the Family Tree

(prayer of Rev. John H. Hampsch, CMF)

Heavenly Father, I come before you as your child, in great need of your help; I have physical health needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs. Many of my problems have been caused by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness, for which I humbly beg your forgiveness, Lord. But I also ask you to forgive the sins of my ancestors whose failures have left their effects on me in the form of unwanted tendencies, behavior patterns and defects in body, mind and spirit. Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders.

With your help I sincerely forgive everyone, especially living or dead members of my family tree, who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way, or those whose sins have resulted in our present sufferings and disorders. In the name of your divine Son, Jesus, and in the power of his Holy Spirit, I ask you, Father, to deliver me and my entire family tree from the influence of the evil one. Free all living and dead members of my family tree, including those in adoptive relationships, and those in extended family relationships, from every contaminating form of bondage. By your loving concern for us, heavenly Father, and by the shed blood of your precious Son, Jesus, I beg you to extend your blessing to me and to all my living and deceased relatives. Heal every negative effect transmitted through all past generations, and prevent such negative effects in future generations of my family tree.

I symbolically place the cross of Jesus over the head of each person in my family tree, and between each generation; I ask you to let the cleansing blood of Jesus purify the bloodlines in my family lineage. Set your protective angels to encamp around us, and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing, to administer your divine healing power to all of us, even in areas of genetic disability. Give special power to our family members' guardian angels to heal, protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs. Let your healing power be released at this very moment, and let it continue as long as your sovereignty permits.

In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage with a holy bonding in family love. And let there be an ever-deeper bonding with you, Lord, by the Holy Spirit, to your Son, Jesus. Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family with its tender, warm, loving presence, so that our family may recognize and manifest that love in all our relationships. All of our unknown needs we include with this petition that we pray in Jesus' precious Name. Amen.

Salve Regina (Song)

Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae,
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
ad te clamamus
exsules filii Evae,
ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos tuos
misericordes oculos ad nos converte;
et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.

V. Ora pro nobis sancta Dei Genetrix.
R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

Oremus. Amen.

In English:
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us O holy Mother of God,
R. that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: Almighty, everlasting God, who by the co-operation of the Holy Spirit didst prepare the body and soul of the glorious Virgin-Mother Mary to become a dwelling-place meet for thy Son: grant that as we rejoice in her commemoration; so by her fervent intercession we may be delivered from present evils and from everlasting death. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

If I Could Touch You (Song)

If I Could Touch You
-Fr. Manoling Francisco

If I could touch You, I'd heal Your broken palms.
If I could hold You in my arms,
I'd call the soft breeze to caress Your weary arms.
I'd call a moonbeam to dispel this darkness nights.
If I could touch You, I would.

If I could hear You, Your words of anguish.
If You'll just whisper in my ear
The sadness, weighing down Your heart that no man sees.
If You just call me, I would sing of flaming hope.
If I could hear You, I would.

Long have I waited for you to hear My cry.
Long have I waited for you to answer My plea.
Waht you do to your brethren, you do it for Me,
I am in the brokenness and woundedness of man.

Yes, you can touch Me.
I'm in the least of your brethren;
I'n in the weak and small.
I need your hands to bear My weary arms.
I need your touch to heal My wounded palms.
Yes, you can touch Me.
Yes, you can touch Me.

Divine Mercy Novena

The Divine Mercy Novena was given to St. Faustina and runs from Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday (Sunday after Easter). The prayers for the Novena may be found at the Divine Mercy Novena Website.

A special note on Divine Mercy Sunday---on this day the faithful can gain a plenary indulgence by doing the following:

1. go to Confession
2. receive Communion
3. pray for the intentions of the Pope
4. pray the Apostles' Creed and the Our Father
5. recite a devout prayer (e.g. Merciful Jesus, we trust in You)

For those who may be impeded from doing the above (e.g. no access to church), other actions may be performed as described in the Vatican's decree.

For how to do this with closed churches because of the coronavirus pandemic, click here.

A short explanation of the plenary indulgence and its link to Divine Mercy Sunday may be found here.

If You Want Me To (Song)

If You Want Me To
-Ginny Owens

The pathway is broken
And The signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to

Cause I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will walk through the fire
If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone

So When the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the valley If You want me to

Litany of Humility

(Which His Eminence Rafael Cardinal Merry del Val (1865-1930) was accustomed to recite daily after the celebration of Holy Mass.)

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, hear me

From the desire of being esteemed,
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of being rebuked,
From the fear of being calumniated
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I,
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase, and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Novena of Grace

(Novena is prayed on March 4-12)

Saint Francis Xavier, patron of the missions and apostle of Asia, we thank God for the great grace which He gave you in life and the great glory which is yours in heaven today. We ask for your intercession so that you will secure for us the grace of living and dying united to our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask, too, that you will obtain for us this favor __________________________ for which we are making this novena.

Confidently we place this request in your keeping, and ask that it may bring glory to God and peace to us. Amen.

Our Father; Hail Mary; Glory be to the Father.

V. Pray for us, Saint Francis Xavier

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

O God, you were pleased to begin the establishment of your Church in Asia through the preaching and miracles of St. Francis Xavier. Mercifully grant that we may grow in unit with You, as we hold in veneration this saint whose zeal won so many people to Your honor and glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ Your Son who lives and reigns with You for ever and ever. Amen.
